5 Lessons from Starting Shoreline Leadership College

We began with 6 students in our full time discipleship program designed to train the church's future leaders. We're 1/2 way through our first 7 month run and here are 5 lessons I've taken away from this experience.

1.) Discipleship is messy.

2.) People respond well to clearly communicated boundaries/expectations.

2B.) People want accountability when they are trying to grow.

3.) Young adults keep you on your toes and will ask direct questions. If your not careful, those questions can catch you off guard.

4.) Most people want to help. Ask!

5.) When things go wrong, be honest, do what you can to make sure mistakes are not repeated, and treat others with generous portions of grace-because you are getting tons of it!
